Harlesden Primary School launched a highly successful whole-school Walking to School Challenge across the half term to explore their theme of Travel:

  • Every pupil from Nursery to Year 6 received a walking passport to record their progress.
The initiative increased walking rates considerably, with many families walking together or pairing up with others.
  • Families reported stronger community connections and many continued walking after the challenge ended.
  • The term concluded with a celebratory whole-school assembly featuring certificates and prizes

One pupil said: “I really enjoyed the walking challenge because I could walk with my friends and my family. It helped the planet and made me feel proud.”
