St Robert Southwell RC Primary School (one of our OSOW schools) has recently made the headlines!

This is because a new living wall has been installed at the school, transforming the playground into a greener, more educational space.

Donated by Viritopia, Pure DC, and A Healthier Earth, the vertical garden aims to boost biodiversity, reduce air pollution, and engage pupils in even more climate education.

The wall features flowering, scented plants chosen for their ecological value and pollutant-absorbing properties. It also uses a biochar compost mix, which reduces water usage by up to 50% and locks in more carbon.

This is a really great example of a school working with a local business to develop their climate action ambitions even further!
