Pupils at St Robert Southwell RC Primary School picked Waste and Consumption as their first OSOW topic in summer term. To encourage further learning at home, the school launched a whole-school competition where each class was challenged to create themed projects using only upcycled household waste—particularly plastic and packaging materials.
Over 100 pupils submitted projects, with the incredible creations showcased for the rest of the school to see. This is a brilliant example of raising awareness of an OSOW theme in a fun and creative way, whilst also having a ripple effect impact by spreading the message to pupils’ homes – reduce, reuse, recycle!
