As part of their ongoing work towards renewing our TfL Travel for Life Gold Award, pupils at Kingsbury Green carried out a hands-on audit of the school car park to help inform plans for improved bike and scooter storage.
Using observation, mapping and data collection skills, the pupils assessed how the space is currently used and identified opportunities to make more room for sustainable travel facilities. Their findings will help the school make informed decisions about future improvements.
The project gave children a chance to apply their maths and geography learning in a real-world setting, while developing teamwork and problem-solving skills. Most importantly, they were able to see how their work can make a genuine difference by encouraging greener, healthier journeys to school.
